A large-scale, multi-phase redevelopment of the historic Siemens industrial site in Berlin-Spandau into a mixed-use urban district (“Siemensstadt Square” / S2) featuring office space, approximately 3,750 residential units, a school, daycare centers, and an innovation campus.
The project began with a memorandum of understanding signed with the State of Berlin in 2018. The first phase of construction—which includes an office tower, an atrium, and the new Siemens headquarters in Berlin—began in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027 or 2028.
Further phases of construction—including the administrative building, the innovation campus, residential buildings, and the reactivation of the Siemensbahn—will extend into the 2030s.
The investment pledged by Siemens for the first construction phase is publicly stated as €600 million; the total investment for the project is described only as “in the billions.”
