BMW Plant in Munich and the Home of Rolls-Royce, Goodwood

Timeframe:
Transformation of the Munich plant by 2027; expansion in Goodwood approved in 2024, construction to begin in 2025.

Scope:
Munich: four new buildings, including body shop and vehicle assembly facilities with logistics areas, 650 million EUR, covering about one-third of the plant’s total area. Goodwood: expansion of approximately 40,000 m² at a cost of more than 300 million GBP.

PROBIS is used by the BMW Group’s Corporate Real Estate division for project management of plant and office construction projects and covers budget, forecast, and commitment tracking. Both programs operate alongside day-to-day operations in confined spaces: in Munich, where approximately 1,000 vehicles roll off the assembly line daily, and in Goodwood, alongside handcrafted production in a protected landscape. This is precisely where true cost transparency is typically lost at handoff points—and this is precisely where a uniformly managed structure for estimation, contracting, and actual costs pays off.
