Starnberg/Münster, November 23, 2021: The Münster-based development company KonvOY GmbH relies on the cost controlling software PROBIS Expert from emproc SYS for the control of all financial processes in the 'KonvOY' district development. A total of 3,000 affordable residential units are to be built on the 76-hectare site of the former British barracks York and Oxford. Additionally, the area will include approximately 220,000 square meters of publicly accessible green spaces. KonvOY GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Münster, is responsible for the development and marketing of the project.

“Over the years, various data formats have become established for different project areas in construction projects. While everyday data formats like Excel are still frequently used on construction sites, commercial stakeholders primarily utilize more sophisticated applications, such as those from software provider Datex. Since our multi-project controlling software has created interfaces for all these common data formats, larger district developments involving many different software systems can be conveniently monitored centrally,” explains Moritz Koppe, Managing Director of emproc SYS GmbH. “Especially for state-funded projects, seamless cost monitoring is inherently crucial, as such construction projects must adhere to a multitude of specific regulations and rules. Here, we can leverage our experience gained from managing state-sponsored project developments in the past.”

The cloud-based multi-project controlling software is deployed for all financial processes within urban district development. An innovative early warning system enables the continuous monitoring of user-definable thresholds via intuitive traffic light indicators. Through interfaces with leading third-party systems, budget deviations can be seamlessly imported into PROBIS Expert in real time, thereby ensuring consistent cost transparency.

The conversion of the former British military barracks "Oxford" and "York," located in the Gievenbeck and Gremmendorf districts respectively, will create new living space for approximately 10,000 people by 2030. These centrally located properties, acquired by the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks in 2018, are intended to become an integrative meeting point for all city residents after energy-efficient renovation. The extensive green areas of the site will be closely networked by cycling and walking paths, creating an open transition between the private and public use of the quarter. Across the total 76 hectares, approximately 425,000 square meters of residential and commercial space will be developed, in addition to 210,000 square meters of green space.
