Public funding, international partners, and full cost accounting.
FAIR GmbH, in collaboration with the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, is building one of the world’s largest research construction projects, supported by international partners and approximately 3,000 researchers.

Software, implementation, and service —all from a single source.
Since 2025, PROBIS Control has been FAIR’s central cost model: budgets by award unit and funding source, contracts, amendments, invoices, and cash outflows are all integrated into a single data structure. PROBIS Workflows routes each invoice through defined roles, using AI-powered document recognition and an SAP interface. PROBIS is responsible for implementation, data migration, interfaces, and customized reporting; IT consultants provide on-site support to the team.
